'Fall Reflections'

I've tidied up my collage studio and I'm back into my paints! Living where we do in the country, with two ponds and lots of beautiful fall reflections constantly in view, his time of year always inspires me to paint. Here's a small plein air study of some of the tree reflections.......I love this time of year!!

Image from West Tisbury

This painting is from my mental image of the cliffs on the beach at West Tisbury on Martha's Vineyard. What a nice visit we had there thanks to our friends Corrine & John.

Ireland 2010: Ballycroy -Co. Mayo

I'm back from another visit to Ireland! This time I traveled with a study abroad group from Augusta State University. The group travelled from place to place by bus which was a new experience for me (I'm accustomed to setting my own itinerary!!). But, the trade-off was that I was able to visit some areas of Ireland I've never seen before...I've tried to capture the essence of some of these places in the artwork from the trip.

This pastel painting is a view of Ballycroy National Park in County Mayo....Ballycroy is an enormous bog (11,000 hectares to be specific) covering a vast uninhabited and unspoilt wilderness. In the distance is the Nephin Beg mountain range.

"Sweeeet!!"

Did this painting from a photo of Bill's corn from last year. He's in the process, right now, of getting the ground ready to plant this year's corn. Last year's crop will be hard to beat!
